I'm interested but their online app doesn't work and I don't have a printer to print one out. I might be able to talk someone at work into printing it out but then I would have to tell people what I'm trying to do and that could cause problems.
If you know another way I would love to hear it. -
I applied in person at a terminal. Not a real big fan of online, by mail job hunting. I can state that they are hiring in your area, and the $ you mentioned sounds about right. A couple of weeks with a trainer after several years off the road is a good deal. Most companies are asking for a refresher, 40 hours driving at a school. They have freight and tractors waiting for qualified applicants. Miles will be as many as you can run legal in the time you stay out.

Can someone tell me if they hire out of Phoenix? I actually live in Tucson and am attending school in Phoenix next month. Trying to get a jump on pre hires. Thanks for any info.

They do hire in Phoenix, they have a terminal there also.

shastamedic the nca is a good fleet start out with. I have been doing it for almost a year now (july 6th)pretty much it is all California some times you'll run to sparks. since I been on this fleet I have only been to az twice. they will send you out to where ever they want as long as they don't give a drop point. been to Canada twice now. Since you live in north California try to get on the 97 fleet. that will get you home more if you want it. still haven't got a APu yet but in the process with the next couple of days. yes the company is getting new trucks all the but they have weight issues, like for instance one of the guys I went to training with has casscadia we both pull the same load weight which was 45680 he was weight by 100lbs on the steers and drives and 60lbs on the trailer. and he was @3/8 of a tank. I have a old 2500 series truck # 7/8 of a tank i was 1000lbs under on steers 600 lbs on drives and 800lbs under trlr. newer isn't always best. idling is not a problem with Gordon key words to use safely can't get enough sleep . like I idle my truck during the day if I have to. only been called once on it.

Thanks for the words of advice. I talked with my recruiter yesterday and he is starting my background investigation. I assume that is the first step in being hired.

Can someone describe what areas some of the different routes cover, including the "97 route".

nca does nv,ca,az. 97 fleet runs up us97 into wa which starts in weed, and goes to the bay area and sometimes down to rancho cucamonga. us fleet does everything but new York and Florida. when they sent me to Spokane from rancho cucamonga they sent by this route California i15,us395,us6,neveda,us95,i80,i15, idaho28, montana,us93,i90. taking us93 into Montana 7% downgrade with 15mph curves. heavy haul does wa,or,id,wy,ut,mt.
