Possible but you'd have to select your loads very carefully . Bad part is DOT knows 3 car loads sometimes go over 26,000 so they like to stop them and check them out . You definately need a 1 ton for 3 cars . You could save about 350 lbs. by getting a single cab instead of a quad cab .

A Dodge will probably give the best mileage .

The Cummins is an inline 6 cylinder . That's a more efficient engine than a V-8 with the same displacement . Ford is still trying to push more power out of International engines than they were designed for . Fords are bad on fuel , expensive on repairs . The Chevy Duramax is a good truck and fuel mileage is close to what you'll get with a Dodge . A lot of buyers decide against Chevy because they have smaller tires and brakes .
Here's info on the Cummins: Google Allpar.

If I were to buy another truck, it would be between the dodge and the chevy. The chevy engine is a good one. I dislike the vacumn fuel filter system. The power of the six in the cummins is good. The new 6.7 dodge is still a question in my book, but by 2010 it should be a good one.
