He will be going out with a trainer. The amount of miles doesn't matter, he'd have to have at least 6 months OTR solo experience to be considered an experienced driver.

TCD, which I drive, starts out a bit higher than flatbed, and glass starts out the highest. The choice of division he'll have depends on where you guys live. If you both live in AR, you should have a choice of all 3 divisions.

To clear up a couple things:

Your husband would start orientation on Sunday, and assuming he passes the physical, and would receive his official job offer the following Wednesday.

He might not be eligible for tuition reimbursement, it depends. I went to school myself, but I couldn't get it because Maverick was not the first company I worked for after leaving school. Not sure if getting schooled at CRE would fall under that or not.

Also be aware that if your husband is training with CRE and signed a contract to get free schooling in exchange for a job, he is probably committed to a certain amount of time to drive for them (usually 1 year) and if he leaves, you guys may get stuck with whatever tuition they want to charge. However, I would recommend leaving either way - I have not heard good things about CRE. I ran into one of their drivers a couple weeks ago, had just been solo for 3 months. They haven't let him go home yet. He's been out for 97 days when I talked to him, they just keep telling him they'll "try to get him home". I told him after that long I'd gone home whether they liked it or not lol.

Maverick will attempt to get him connected with a trainer that is close to where he lives, so he can go home when the trainer does. If you guys live in AR, that should be very easy for Maverick to do.

On the first day of orientation, he will get $50 in cash to run him the rest of the week, and then get his first paycheck of $500 the next Friday. After that, training pays $550 per week until he goes solo.

I think that's everything lol... I drive TCD myself, so if you have any further questions, feel free to post here or send me a message.

I'm surprised no one asked about her husbands physical shape, disabilities, if he has ever expressed an interest in flatbed, etc. One thing that I have learned from reading on this site, flatbedding is in your blood. Not just something you try or do to get out of a bad situation. If he is older or if he doesn't like lifting heavy objects in the hot sun/freezing winter/rain/etc he would probably be worse off flatbedding than he would be at CRE (I can't believe I said that either).

Maverick TCD is the way to go... It's like CRE, except you can actually make a living and go home from time to time lol

I had spinal fusion surgery a year and a half ago and I'm cleared at 100%. I have no limitations and I've already passed the dot physical for my local cdl school. I have no problems lifted heavy stuff or bending or anything really. Do you guys know how picky Maverick is cause they are my first choice? I shouldn't have any problem with their training. Any info would be great thanks.

Do you have any smudges or stains on your driving record or criminal record? Do you have a good/complete work history for over the past 2-3 years? You say you are medically cleared, thats good. Are you gonna be squeaky clean on the hair follicle exam? You do not yet have, but soon will have, your CDL, right? If you are one who gets through those hurdles easily, then you would quite possibly be one that gets an invitation to orientation. "Picky" is a good word to describe it. But rest assured, there is a VERY GOOD REASON why.

Word to the wise: BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR.....

Flatbedding is awesome, for the right person. It is very tough on you however.

Thanks captain! My husband is 30, about 178 lbs, very fit. He's used to heavy lifting and physical jobs, so the physical part wouldn't be bad. He is leaning towards flatbed. He's actually worried about gaining weight driving so to actually have something physical to do would be great. He has no physical limitations whatsoever. The sense I get about Maverick is they are top of the line when it comes to safety, they are dedicated to doing right by their drivers, and they value family. I have done a lot of reading and have liked everything I heard about them, plus their maroon trucks are so pretty! lol My husband is a hard worker, always has been, and he also does things the way they should be done. He doesn't cut corners. CR England has been misleading or downright dishonest this whole time. He didn't sign a contract but they told him if he didn't drive 9 months with them he'd have a week to start paying them back for tuition($3000 something). That was not mentioned until after he got there.

Well then, he sounds as tho he would be a great fit. One of you call Mason in recruiting and explain your situation, he will walk you thru the best way to go about a transition over to Maverick if it possible. There is a good likelihood that that tuition problem may remain however, be forewarned.

I will definitely get ahold of Mason tomorrow. I can't express enough how helpful everybody has been here. Hubby is waiting on his trainer to get to the truck and then they are heading to Spanish Fork Utah, then New Mexico. He loves driving and his trainer says he is doing great. He wants to drive for Maverick though. I just hope it works out. I know if they sent him to orientation he'd do great.
