Yer friend should have money on the side for breakdowns, after all, he said he made 70K gross (after expenses). so if ya make 35k a year gross as company driver.. I think 70K as O/O is a tad bit more. It's call running a business. If owing yer own truck sucks.. then why does May have 900 of them?

Right.. and since now I team drive with my Lady .. we are looking at grossing 350K .... but it's what we put in our pockets, after expenses, that counts!
-
And remember .. You are a Business Owner FIRST .. then a truck driver.Joker85 Thanks this.

Ive been doing my research, just looking for the right opportunity to do it. the whole fuel tax thing I'm trying to understand. And idk if it seems to be a good idea to start this winter compared to doing it say like april
-
The higher the fuel the better .. Fuel Sur-Charge! You don't have to worry about the fuel tax, as May does all the figuring out on that. But it is important when and where to fuel.
-
But make sure yer set up a bit before you start .. have a few bucks on the side. It takes money to make money ..
-
Yea that's why I think I'm gonna wait til I collect my whole sign on bonus and I'm making pretty good money training right now. I can live off 150 a week so I'm saving alot right now.

Isn't that called "working for free?" how often do you do that and how many hours does that break even load take to do? just wondering
-
It's not working for free ... You have look at the big picture .. what you generate in a quarter and the fiscal year. Not any certain hour or day.Rogerthat Thanks this.
