You pulled that a 100 mile and that's all you caught? You better play the lottery.

Theres a lot of tall farm equipment, I was a little surprised that a mfg would build something that high knowing that it would be transported on roads.

That's the truth. I would deliver that ticket to the clerk of courts and get it paid as soon as possible.
I wouldn't want anyone else looking at it. No permit, No escort, No high pole. No utility consulted(my assumption).
Go buy two lottery tickets, That sure was your lucky day.
    Good luck.

I used to carry a copy of the CA Public Utilities Commision rules & regs for overhead utility lines. There were different minimums for different types of roads/highways. I don't remember what they were but if I was still doing OS work I would have a copy with me all the time. Could save yer arse by showing it to the DOT man with wires draped over your load.

LoL! I'd probably win just so the Judge could have me donate it to his county.

    Ok

Here we go again.... sorry in advance

Assuming "someone brought it in" as logic for taking a 16' tall load down the road with no route plan is at best dubious and closer to willful negligence.

What if you didn't take the same route as that special someone that brought it in?

There is a reason that professionals charge a premium for overheight transport, it costs money to do route surveys and use pilots cars with height poles. Those luxuries that clearly you didn't deem necessary are there to protect the rest of us from you.

It just as easily been a power line that you took down and that could have more serious consequences.

I know what you are thinking...he just a hand wringing tight ### and people do it all the time - no big deal. It, however a big deal.

I hope between the citation and possibly the repair cost you learn from it.

bigguns, ChaoSS, NavigatorWife and 9 others Thank this.
