The TSA has given the states the option to extend the haz for up to 180 days.

I know my Hazmat expired. I was clicking around on the interwebs today and decided to do some recon on getting Hazmat renewed. I clicked on the 'service status' as there was no where to click to renew.
It says I am now 'pre enrolled' and have 120 days to give fingerprints.
I guess I gotta do it now or theyll probably suspend my CDL in 120 days.
I also want to get Real ID and probably a passport. -
I'm glad I got mine renewed last year. Good up until 2023. Of course the only worry for me is if I unexpectedly had to move to another state for work for whatever reason. With things still hot in most areas, a transfer and an ensuing HAZMat renewal will become quite the headache.
