No, atleast not for me. I started only 6 months ago and I'm 23. So I put down my last 3 jobs and the last one I drove a 26' box truck for a large moving company but it's nothing at all like a 53' trailer, fill the app out as honest as you can, you won't be disappointed by going with Roehl, every company has pros and cons but trust me roehls cons are nothing compared to what I've heard from other company's.

    good luck with your decision

I live in Florida so I trained in Ellenwood GA but I tested out in Gary IN. Once I was done with my trainer. The first day is easy they'll talk a lot kind of get to know you, you'll take the drug tests (hair and urine) then have lunch and go get a physical done later on at a clinic. My instructors were awesome, very funny, laid back guys. Keep in mind that I was in Ellenwood not saying that the instructors you have won't be cool. It's 7 days long, pretty much a lot of backing and road driving, nothing hard the hotel I was in was very nice they fed us lunch and dinner and the hotel had breakfast. The first couple days you'll just be in the yard backing, until the drug test results come back you won't be going on the road, my advice is to keep your ears open they will go over a lot with you DONT BE OVER WHELMED, I was just because that's how I am and I tend to over think and get worried easy. After your done with the 7 days of class and road driving and backing, you will then be hired, get your company ID badge and be assigned a trainer, mine picked me up the day after so it was very fast, everyone else in my class was sent out right away. With your trainer; just pay attention to everything they say, and again don't get nervous just take your time with EVERYTHING. A lot will come in time, and trust me because it will. My first trip BY MYSELF I was very nervous about getting all the steps right and it didn't help that my first pickup was taking me through Chicago lol, very nerve racking but I did it, and my confidence grew day by day. And other Roehl drivers will always help you out. I've never had any issue with that, everyone I've come across are very nice people. Just remember to take your time there's no need to rush anything, your learning a lot. Good luck with all of it you'll do just fine. Anymore questions please feel free to ask

I'm currently van national I stay out 3-5 weeks at a time because the longer you run... The more money you make. But over the last few weeks I've been thinking more and more about switching to flat, it's a little better money, and I want some physical work to break up driving so much. So I'm considering a few options that I have.

Ok Red... first off keep your snow! LOL Got up this morning and there was snow here...hasn't gotten above 30 today. But on a lighter note... I GOT MY PERMIT TODAY! Rushed first few questions (missed 3) why do they feel the need to trick you? Don't we have enough to remember without being fooled? LOL Anyways, not a 100% but Im'm ok with that as I am sure they will drill the rest of it home during class! NOW I'M REALLY ANXIOUS TO GET STARTED!!
Of course I may be pushing my limits with the boss these next two weeks because every time all H### breaks loose at work these last couple of days, I can't help but get this stupid grin on my face as I laugh and say..."Only 2.5 weeks to go!" He glares at me and walks away... luckily he is a cool guy and said he doesn't blame me for leaving and encourages anyone who wants to better themselves and their life! Gonna miss a few of fellow employees but not the under paid BS.
Just thought I would let ya know!
    See you soon!:yes2557:

So I am signed up with National Curtain side flatbed... can anyone tell me the miles this fleet gets? Staying out on the road 3-5 weeks isn't a problem for me, but I was curious as to what I may be running. Just curious... and also are there many runs to Pacific Northwest...say Puget Sound Washington area?
