I think I might want to be team if I go OTR. One reason is I wouldn't have to worry about the truck idling and burning fuel while resting; I can sleep while the other person drives. Also wouldn't have to worry about lot lizards, being robbed, etc.

Can team drivers (individually) usually earn the same pay as solo drivers? I realize they split the pay in half for each load, but then you can haul more.

Another thing is, can team drivers sometimes get better loads? I would think that being able to deliver a load in half time would make a team more valuable.

And it is such a joy to sleep in a moving, bouncing shaking truck. Not.

One thing to consider, is can you actually sleep while In motion? I had an extremely hard time due to today's road conditions.

Better pay for hot loads, but if you're a company c.p.m. driver, you're never gonna know it.

Personally, I do much better being a solo driver.

Split pay means you get paid for all miles the truck runs, even if you're in the sleeper, you still get paid for the miles your team mate drives.
If the truck is dispatched 2000 miles, you and your team mate both get paid for 2000 miles, even though you each only drove 1000 miles.
Where is your location? Maybe we can suggest some team companies.

If ya haven't even started driving yet, go solo first, see how ya like it. Learn the ropes first before you're put in a position to be directly responsible for someone's life, in the event of an accident.

..and yes the teams do get priority and longer runs over solo. However, you're a team for a reason. A 2400 mile load is a two day trip, think about that.

You are not going to sleep for a while the other person drives.

Your questions will be broken by a hard reality you are about to try and sleep committing your life into the second drivers hands.

I'd rather run solo anyway. That's the main reason I chose trucking anyway; solitude!

A couple dozen to choose from. Benny Whitehead Trucking in Eufaula,Alabama is one. They haul a lot of produce out of the west coast areas.
