I applied for the Greencastle, Indiana DC 3 and a half months ago. I got a call yesterday, while I was asleep, asking if I was still interested. I called back and left a voicemail letting Kyle know that I was still interested. Is anyone familiar with this DC, and what I can expect? I live in Greencastle, and a 5 minute commute would be amazing. I currently have a local, home daily gig, and gross 1300/wk. Hopefully this change will be worth it. It seems Walmart is an amazing company to drive for.

I'm at Greencastle. Starting out, you'll slipseat every week. Greencastle services other DCs, not stores. Once at another DC, you run wild. You can gross around $1800/week working 5-5 1/2 days per week.

Thank you. That’s good to know. I have a phone interview tomorrow at noon. I read somewhere that it’s mainly common sense trucking questions, so I’m sure I’ll be fine. I can’t wait.

I had my phone interview today. It wasn't what I expected. I expected questions like "Why do you want to work for us?" and "What are your strengths and weaknesses?"
Instead, it was more of a conversation about what all is on my application.
I got the job offer, and will be heading to Bentonville in a couple weeks. I'm a little nervous to leave my current job, without passing Walmart's tests, but I guess I'm not the first or last person to do so. It's been a while since I shifted gears, but I don't think it'll be a problem. I have a family of 5, so this is a big leap. I'm hoping I'm nervous for nothing. -
From what my buddy told me who works for Walmart they’ve relaxed some of their stringent hiring requirements~keeps trying to get me to jump on board but the slip seating is a tuff one~good luck in your new adventure

Are you aware that you will be gone all week from your family?
-
Thank you.
I’m aware. I currently work 12 hour night shifts, so it won’t be much of a change for them, as they rarely see me anyways. I’m fine with being gone for 5-6 days. And I live in Greencastle, so the commute will be nice and short.T.Rucker Thanks this. -
You’ll like it. Great pay, easy job, great paid time off. Just be a safe professional driver and you’ll be fine.
