I see the trolls have found me again. Can’t escape them. I will reply to you since you’re forum staff. I parked my flatbed because the rates fell off a cliff. I was tired of fighting for scraps. I figured hauling food might be a safer option now since people have to eat no matter what. I was right. The reefer freight on the contract side is insanely busy. I find that it’s much more intense than spot market flatbed hauling. I can no longer take my time and drive on my terms. Food must be delivered ASAP and at all hours of the day and night. When I hauled flatbed my customers didn’t mind if I took my time. I only loaded and unloaded in the daylight, detention issues were rare and best of all I never went to warehouses. I now find after four months the reefer freight is beginning to burn me out. That is why I’m exploring other options. So now everyone knows we should be able to drop it and get back to discussing Walmart.
I was thinking about the slip seating issue. I would have to disinfect the truck every time I started a week. Blanket the interior with a Fog or spray disinfectant. What about the mattress issue?

    Indeed
20 year OO bails on flatbed to be a company driver at Prime.
    Happens all the time.

What you call trolls, is what we call accountability.
    Every word is yours.
Now, you could quietly back out of that position and move on, or you could continue to assure us that you're a 20 year OO, with a flatbed that you beat Mercer out of, pulling reefer for Prime, looking for a better gig.
    Jus sayin what you said.

you should be cleaning the next fully for the next anyway. 409 spray, wipe floors and spray bed. this is the way even before the virus

Reply noted. One thing to remember here is that some of the guys on TTR have long memories and finely calibrated BS meters.

Disinfecting an entire truck would be weird for me. I’m an owner op at a reefer company now and been an owner op since 1998 so driving a truck that’s not mine AND sharing it with two other drivers would also be weird. I’m very particular about my equipment.

sleeper mattress area does not look appealing to me at all in walmart truck. im in phase 2 with a trainer observing/paperwork training. i dont think im gonna feel comfortable at all sleeping on a public bed/mattress. I get some itching just sitting in driver seat after a while of driving.
