First off Ill agree you dont have to go to truckstops for coffee. We have to deal with everywhere else, Truck routes, truck lanes, etc.. So If you dont like the smell of Honest Hard work go somewhere else. Most driver work 70 to 90 hours a week, without much complaint, and in a lot of cases without proper compensation. So if at the end of there day there in need of a shower, look as tired as they are maybe you should just stay out of there way and keep your mouth shut.

Man you just never can tell what kinds of things people will judge. I'm blown away by the hat thing. A convenience store is not a formal setting. I'm as socially acceptable as they come, and I'm not going to add wearing a hat indoors to my list of controversial things. If you don't like hats indoors, that one is gonna have to be on you. I don't see the world bending to that perspective enough to make this preference worthwhile. You're just going to have to be upset by it I guess.

Some just might just be running so hard that they haven't took time to get a shower. It's not like at your house where you just drop your shorts and jump into the water.
We don't have that luxury!
We have to wait in line to get approved for a shower or pay $10.00. Then we have to wait in another line for our turn because there are 15 drivers waiting for one of 5 showers!
The sink baths are the guys that are broke or too cheap or don't have time for a real shower. Hey! At least they are making an effort!
The guys that make me angry are the idiots that pee all over the D#$# toilet seat!Stillwater Thanks this. -

imo, the bottom line is that if your otr and are to lazy to even wipe your stinky ##### with as little as a baby wipe then thats the way a person lives and thers no changing them iv seen drivers that have been over the road for a couple of weeks at a time and look as if they just came from home with clean clothes and a fresh shave carry some bath towels with you and a couple of spray bottles with you one with clean water and the other with a mix of water and body wash there you go while your in between showers you can freashin up a little and beleav it or not even have a feash shave, and for local drivers well there isnt a reason for you guys to smell pick the right deoderant it may sound funny but there are deoderants that last longer then others, take a shower the night before or first thing in the morning wear under-shirts so that the sweat and dirt dont mix its things like this that not only help the non truckers in there daily lifes but can also help a driver after all most of us are here to act and look like professional and i do stress most.

Joe; as the smell goes usally for every 100 gallons of fuel you pump you get what is known as a free shower ticket. And when you only get 5to6 miles per gallon(as my truck does) you can recieve enough shower tickets. Most people do care how they appear if they are clean shaven dresses well generally overall appearence is important too most. But you will get a few as in ts the office, factories, stores etc.. that is up to the person themselves. As for being tired looking you betcha it can be stressful at times. So many things come into play when you are a driver just not the driving. Most people have 1hr or less to drive to work, we have 11hrs aday 650 miles or more aday. Gone for weeks even months at a time only to get home to see our families for a day or two and back at it again. Truck stops are for everyone but TS are the only place we have to fuel, eat, and sleep. Remember just about every thing you have or own has been brought by truck. Plus agood rule of thumb for you to remember is that when its 90 degrees out side in that truck the temp. is usually 20 to 30 degrees hotter inside.I hope that when you read some of these blogs that you'll understand alittle better what we as drivers have to go through to deliver our loads so you and the general public can enjoy your daily lives. Like that cup of coffee you enjoy (which was brought by truck!)
