After finishing 2-3 days of orientation at the Colonial Heights,VA terminal me and 5 other drivers got our trucks today at the Carlisle, PA terminal. The other drivers got Peterbilts and Freightliners. I'm the only one who got a KW. A 2013 KW T660 Aerodyne with a Cummins ISX engine/10 speed drivetrain and 200K miles on the odometer. It has some minor cosmetic "battle damage" but it's nothing I'm not used to. Just having an APU equipped truck makes me feel like I'm spoiled rotten. Lol

I got lazy and didn't bother. I keep liquids in my fridge so I just unplug it when I want to game.
-
Very true- it's also listed in the employee manual- no additional inverters.

$1000 after taxes i can see, but $1,500 is kind of pushing it.

I've hit it a few times with luck, miles, & detention. 1K-3K is norm... Mostly low end 1K high 9rachi Thanks this.

Remember it depends on each persons tax and benefits, I have family medical and almost all other insurance and I take the full 2500 a year pre tax medical payment program so that's 175 out of each check just in benefits, also my fed is 5 so almost nothing and thankfully I don't pay state income and only need a small 401k (5%) contribution due to some luck with a previous employer and contributions for 20 years. So I average 880-1200 take home. (Only on non home time weeks) But someone without all that would do better. And someone with state income tax or higher 401k would take home less.
Also I notice people forget to add their draw back into the take home pay, so they think they make less.
I'm just reminding everyone that take home comparison is not apples to oranges in comparison it's doughnuts to peanuts! So we should talk gross, but at Marten with per diam that's a bit more complicated! But last payday I was averaging .50/mile with all included. (Marten has that number on check stub) -
How does that average crap work? I'm averaging 44.5 as of this past pay period, but I don't understand it. Are you actually paid that average or are they just saying hey, you're running this hard so this is like what you're making.

No that's all the money you made (mileage pay, detention, layover, bonus, breakdown, extra stop, etc) divided by all your miles paid. And it's only for the last 4 weeks. It's just to show you how much you made with th extra pay. Also so you see how much your making on average with the sliding scale and per diem. Because our checks out broken into 2 different pays for every mile, and not every trip is paid on the same rate, some people get confused, or think they are making less than they are. It's a ploy to help you feel better, I assume every mile is the lowest paid and the extra is gravy. But that's me.
If your getting .445 I would guess you have been doing mostly miles and not getting much detention or other pay. It's a good marker to see how your doing if you follow it a while and give it no significant value in your life. Make sure with being at .445 you are getting all you detention pay etc so your not getting short. But if you have just been rolling, that's awesome! When I did a Walmart account I got up to .99 cents a mile with all the stop pay and flat rate pay. They were short miles, but I did 2 runs a night and banked good money!mjd4277 Thanks this. -
Btw I took the long explanation for the people reading, the question only needed a short answer for someone who works at marten, but readers of the post may need more info.
Thx
