Good Morning could I get a little input on the process this takes to re-activate our old authority? It was voluntarily made inactive years ago, I don't know my DOT pin number either which it looks like I will need but can be requested. How do they verify that it is the old LLC picking back up the authority and not someone else as it will be a new address.

I was thinking of just paying a company to do it so I wouldn't throw a wrench in the gears any suggestions on who to use? I found this company Evilsizor & Associates any feedback on them? Please give me a little feedback Thanks!

A couple of questions. How long has your Dot/MC been dormant? You have to update your information on the fmsca site every 2 years for your Dot, were you doing that? There is a possibility that they closed your Dot if you were not updating your information if it was a long period of time. If not you can request for the Dot pin & update your information. You can also call them (early morning is best) to explain your situation. I would try that first before paying someone for something you can do yourself.

It has been over 10 years and I know that the DOT number will be closed so I will need to request a pin and update my info. It just seems that maybe I should let some company do it that is used to working with them unless it is very straightforward.

    Join OOIDA.

They will be able to answer all your questions and they will be able to reactivate it for you or advise you as to what to do.

And afterwards they will be able to answer any questions you have about your authority or compliance or anything else.

He stated his address change & not updating. Were you updating it every two years? When I let my sit I still had to update.

I never updated anything, and my address had changed too.
