I really would prefer to be able to bring my Boston Terrier with me.

    That's a fair enough reason. I don't blame you.

Unsure of how well it'd work, but I'd like to bring my cat/another pet with me as well.

My boston, Dexter, is my little buddy, and ###### fine company. Well mannered, listens, and doesn't ask for much, food, water, bathroom breaks every now and then, a nylabone to chew on, and a pat or scratch behind the ears. MUCH less demanding than the girlfriend or the kids :)

Freymiller hires drivers with a long gap in driving.
Earl Henderson Trucking if you're in the hiring area; you might be in a dead zone.
Howard Transportation has a terminal in Weirton, WV
    Transport America
    Western Express
    Paschall Truck Lines

In my opinion the first 3 on the list are best; but that's just my opinion.

    That's right!
USX is good for teams, but not for solo drivers.

Sni stated it was because of "driver allergies" that we couldn't have pets. (Considering they have smoking/non-smoking trucks...I called bull.)

Had to ask the trainer at the time if we brought a "Rex" cat with us, would it be allowed?

Had to show him a picture, but his reply was funny if nothing else... "Boy, if you can bring a hairless cat out and walk him around at a truck stop...then you've either got balls or some issues."

I think hairless cats are creepy...but I'm a difficult person when I decide I've been fed bullsnit. So I had to challenge his reasoning.

I was difficult enough to tell him that it was wiser to call pets a "distraction while driving" over an allergy issue for the next driver... He still gives me the stink eye anytime he sees me at the Atlanta terminal.

    You people and your pets.

Over the years as a member here at TTR, I have seen so many people turn down a good carrier to drive for a crap carrier just so they could bring their stupid dog.

I'm starting to hate dogs and cats just about as much as I hate Sheeple.

Heh...well, USX is out anyway. They apparently, after telling me that I was good to go, decided to later tell me there is a hiring freeze on for "250 hour" drivers, whatever that is. And this AFTER I give notice to my current employer. Then in the same breath, proceeded to tell me that it should be lifted in a "couple weeks or so." After seeing the way this is being handled, I don't know that I would WANT to work for them, anyway. I was always taught growing up that if you tell a man something, you follow through.

But... The wool from sheeple is so warm and cuddly!

And how could you hate on a face like this...?

Well, consider it a blessing in disguise bud... I'm not even joking. Go check out the companies that Chinatown posted, I'm assuming he saw your post on wanting to bring your dog so he probably factored that into his recommendations.
