I hear you, lesson learned. Next time I will post pics before hand lol.

The other side is exactly the same.

You know how it is when you start laying out chains and binders and putting the puzzle together. I played around with different ideas and decided on this.

I feel like I carry a good number of chains and binders I think I have 13 binders and plenty of chains. I can break some 20s down to 10. If needed. So I had chains to spare but was worried about the binders

had I know it was five instead of three I was camped out at Iowa 80 I could have bought a couple more. (But man the are expensive there. A bundle of edge protectors is $79. Way higher than what I payed 1.5 years ago

Those Harbor Freight binders are a bit cheaper, but whatever works in a pinch, eh? Like I said, not sure if the tracked equipment would be counted as the rolling stock like wheeled would (it's been a while since I've done them) but the load of Bobcat I did out of Gwinner wasn't 4 pointed either and that was with help from the loading staff...that said, a short trip to a Harbor Freight store could have helped get extra binders to 4 point 'V' pull those chains with 2 per side instead of the one, but that should have been sufficient to get you to a binder store. :)

Looks good 2 me. I'm only 38 years old but I feel ya, I'd rather tarp a load than be crawling around chaining these type of loads. Screw that.

Consider dropping in at a trailer sales store/shop and picking up a couple 20'+ 5/16 G7 chains and 4 or more binders, maybe even a couple snap binders. You will find them a lot cheaper than truckstop pricing and almost as cheap as tarp/securement shops.
Having a couple 20'+ 5/16 chains comes in handy for loads like this and for bellywraps on pipe and steel shapes. they are also good for awkward farm equipment and even vehicles. Quite often a smaller chain will fit where a 3/8 will not.
A few 3/4 or 5/8 shackles will come in handy too when you can find them.
These thoughts are for flatbed and a stepdeck hauler may consider the same and more because a stepdeck can get more single piece heavy loads.
