How many hours are you waiting for you mentor? What bathroom facilities do you use while he's gone? Did he make sure you had enough food/water?

that sucks to be on the side of the road. but your trainer shouldnt be allowed to do that. Call the company and tell them what happend and that you are in a dangerous spot and where you have no facilities.

    Decide the severity.

How long will you be parked?
Are there restrooms you can use, nearby? (do you need them. I usually go #2 only once a day so an overnight is no problem. #1 has many options...)

Do you have food and at least water?

What are the temps? Blazing hot or freezing, are you prepared for either or is it a nice cool spring temp? Great for sleeping.

Is it a safe place to park?
I was left with the truck, and told not to move it. For almost three days while training. We were given a load from the northwest corner of the country back to chicago. The delivery time was scheduled for a single driver. we ran nonstop, and had too much time left over. He probably knew this, and he lived nearby.

But I was left in mild temps, at a pilot TS with a petro across the street. So I had showers and food, etc...

My point is, you can shrug this off, not upset the trainer and get through your remaining time with less animosity or you can stir the pot.

But really you wanted to just know if the batteries will die? Hhehehee
Were you given instructions to not idle the truck?

If the answer is no, then flip the key and scroll through the dash info to find the voltage to see if you need to idle to recharge the batts.

He seems ok so i dont plan on causing a ruckus unless it happens again. Company policy is the trainer pays for a motel and gets reimbusted (or maybe the company pays.) Either way being left in the truck on the side of the road in the ghetto sucked. Luckily didnt have to go number 2 and there was a pizza shop down the street. But yeah, my question pertained more to the battery the anything else.

Unless one is with-in walking distance.

It'll toughen him up, and not be a sissyman

He never mentioned, if it was a farm road, an frontage road, etc, etc. there are differences to the amount of traffic or lack of it, as well as street lighting.

one "has" facilities, when one has plastic bags. always ask for a few extra bags when shopping at wally-world, for such emergencies. and save those soda/juice bottles, see?? problem solved.!!!

And you were worried about "facilities".
thank you, he never mentioned that now did he??

to you it was a ghetto. why, was the paint peeling from some of the houses? were cars all stripped and sitting bare on the street?

You had shelter, you had food. You survived all on your own, now you're a grown up. Maybe you'll make it as a driver now.

You only worried about running down the battery so You must be OK with where you are parked. When I trained w/Werner my trainer left me @the DC and his truck had an APU.I also had restroom and showers so never was any concern.I used his cooler for soft drinks and water son no problem there. If you were left in an area where you felt unsafe you need to talk to the trainer about it and if he won't put you up in hotel as that is Co.Policy I would talk to Safety or DM about it.Most trainers are only training to get more miles on the truck.AS far as running down the battery I wouldn't worry about it.If the trainer left you the keys crank it up and let it idle for a bit before you go to sleep.
