I have a Clean CDL and I have a Team Driver. But it's been very hard landing a job. We both have 4 months experience. What's making it very difficult is one of our previous jobs terminated us because while we were bobtailing back home, my brother in law who had a permit to drive, asked if he can drive the tractor around the block. And we let him. We went with him. But a stop sign approach not even a block away and he pressed the sensitive brake and the cameras started recording. He got out the driver's seat immediately. And we were let go two weeks later. So it's been very difficult. We know we messed up. And we know not to ever do that ever again. We can't seem to land an opportunity anywhere. Does anyone know how long will this punishment be?

You're asking questions in the owner-operator thread.
Should be in the "Questions From New Drivers" thread.

This post should send shivers down most spines. You know, I was afraid to let my SIL drive a rental car I rented, for fear of notification, "unregistered driver". Well, nothing happened, but could very well have.( camera in the rear view mirror?) So, this is mostly the driver facing camera that busted you, and they can't tell if it's you or someone else on the braking issue. WOW,,,lesson learned there, huh? I really feel bad for you, and a product of our over regulated industry. Here, TWO good drivers lose their jobs, after a lot of money spent on schooling, all for nothing but to pad the companies pockets,, with little if any hope of getting another, and why? Insurance mandates such foolishness, and the industry is crying for drivers? I don't really blame you, but you probably should have known it's generally taboo for a non company person to operate the truck.
My advice, while Chinatown lists a bunch of great jobs, I think many will treat you the same way. They have to or no insurance. The industry has adopted a " there's plenty more of "you" policy", and I told the industry to cram it with walnuts 15 years ago, with my very last T/T job, a non-road trailer loader/shuttle at a cranberry farm. You don't have enough time in for any credible reference, that Chinatowns prospects will surely check. If you really want to continue this venture, someone will hire you, but I all but guarantee, you won't be happy. Usually, in those situations, someone else got upset and quit, resulting in an opening. For example, a Walmart dept. manager makes about the same money, and the trucking industry is cutting their own throats, you'll see,,,well, I guess you DID see, it's a mess. Best of luck, like another poster was upset because nobody would hire them because of a felony conviction. That really was the most, I mean, who would want an ex-felon working for them? They didn't think anything was wrong.
