"Nah, we'll just get out the cutting torch and the welder. Cut off everything more than 102" and weld everything else together in one big lump".

I had a customer tell me that. It was a load of metal scrap going to a recycler. I told him we'd send one of our end dumps to get it. It definitely wasn't a flat bed load.

Can you get a flatbed in there?
Sure! They come in here all the time!
Plenty of room to turn around!
    Run!

    Riiiiiiight.

We hear that constantly in my job.

“Can you get a truck in there?”

“Sure. We get trucks and trailers in here all the time”.

Later after you find that the one you talked to is completely full of crap....

“Oh, I’m sorry. I thought you meant a pickup truck with a uhaul trailer”.

    :banghead:

Seriously? There has to be more to the story. Surely they weren’t foolish enough to think it could be hauled that way. That’s insane!

I’ve seen worse. If you leave any sort of trailer to haul off scrap, as a rule, it will be overloaded when you go to pick it up.

Here is a pic of a van they loaded with scrap until it literally broke in half.
