It's an Indian word meaning "weasel who steals from those who blindly trust".

Honestly though....I love the good ones! I say a rate and then they say yes or no and all is well.

The toughest part of being O/O IMHO is being able to say no for a couple or even a few days while holding out for the right load.

I can say since I started this 4 years ago or so that every other aspect of my life is dialed the F in! My house is fixed, my cars are tight, dirtbike and jetski are mint! And of course my Pete is minty!

Not running cheap freight EVER lets you get stuff done!

Time to start charging a “lying broker’s fee”. :biggrin_25523:

    Double brokering should be illegal.

That would put an end to all the coffee table brokers. You know the ones that just grab loads from other brokers and then try to find a truck. Would probably put 90% of Landstar's agents out of business.

I do a significant amount of low bedding equipment every year, and a bit like you guys face with a broker, is when I show up to move something, and they always want to add another piece to the load.

Don’t you love those last minute surprises?

“Sorry. That makes it a divisible load, so you’re SOL”.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

    Broker says
“it’s a short load, about half a truck load, last pieces on an order, only need like 20 feet, about 15k.

Get to shipper and it’s a full load. Shipper says well we just added this on, we forgot about it needing to go.

Broker call. Not going to go well.

Lepton1, cke and Mattflat362 Thank this.
