Quitting

My question for everyone in this thread, if you're in a situation like OP or myself where the terminals are far from your home, what is the standard practice if everything goes ok and they get you to their main terminal, on time, where they want you to drop the truck off? Will they usually get you a bus ticket, plane ticket or rental car so that you can get home? Would they reimburse for gas? Reimburse for 1 night at a hotel room if you needed it?

Or is getting home usually all on the driver financially?

It's not something that happens often, most often we use it when disputing unemployment claims.

 

Take the morality out of it. Its pure business. If THEY fail to provide you a way to return that truck, that is NOT your problem. Taking the time dh the truck 800mi, then transport yourself back home costs you money.

 

If we fire you, we will provide a bus ticket home.

If you quit, that's on you.

 

I don't have either. I do however know what they are. In this case, the only reason why this company would charge this driver is because they're truly a shady company that doesn't care about their drivers and will use it as a way to not pay him his last paycheck (if he has one due).

 

We hire in Ok, but require 2yrs of otr and 1yr flatbed experience for company drivers.
