    Yes and no.

Just left CO today, spent all my time on I25 except for a short trip to Brighton.

I already know my DM is planning on moving on soon. He enjoys his job when he doesnt have to deal with MM or corp. I already told him when he quits so will I unless I get to be local. Already made the agreement with my wife. 2 years OTR and then a local job.

Ya know, going to work for these big trucking companies reminds me of what it must be like for an innocent, young, pretty girl in a pick-up bar full of horney old men. All the smooth, clever talk; being treated with kindness and respect. Made to feel like you are special. Being told that you deserve the best. All that gentle, but firm, persuasion... and then... WHAMO! Bammo! Thank you Ma'amo! The next day, all the showers in the world cant wash away all that regret. Best thing to do in the future? Just say NO to all recruiters.

So true! I've had a couple of "conversations" with Safety about "hard brakes", also, and was able to bite my tongue, but it was close.

I don't know everything, but I have been doing this for over 20 years, and having to explain things to a 20 year old "non truck driver" kind of irritates me, just a bit.

I find ripping their head off the first time prevents the next call.

Great, stuck in Ontario because there's no freight thanks to 30 way over paid typists.

You're probably competing with all the 'dedicated container drivers' who have no freight, as the Long Beach port has been shut down for a week due to a strike...ships stuck off shore waiting to unload...

Try a request for a DH home..what is it, 100-120 miles??

DM has me a load for tonight going to Tempe, I'll just stay out of Cali till just before Christmas. January I'll start shopping my skills around to other employers unless wife is able and wanting to give this another try. And I'm wanting her to. I think I liked it better with her just riding along. She took care of the laundry, food and cleaning and I took care of the driving, I can't hardly sleep with the truck bouncing down the road.
