    Just remember. Prime governs their trucks to 55. If you cant stand going slowly at speeds of 1976, you may want to stop thinking of driving for prime. Or at least that is the governed speed for company drivers

    Keep me posted. I’ll be starting RE West on Feb. 4th. At least that’s what I’m shooting for anyway. I believe they’d hire out of Vegas. Like I said before, I talked to a former driver that was from North Dakota so I don’t know why they wouldn’t.

    I wouldn't trust Prime for flat bed. They really put the squeeze on their flatbed drivers a year ago. Showing examples of double brokered loads...etc. etc. etc. .... just to cut out the driver on pay. They lost many drivers. Must not have cared. Did it on purpose?

    Primes company trucks are governed 58 on the pedal and 62 on cruise.
    Beware one thing if you go Prime Flatbed, you have to pay for the flatbed gear. It runs about $3600 for the full package. They will take it out of your check at $65-$70 per week until it’s paid off. They offer to buy it back if you leave but will offer you penny’s. Check your gear, especially any used straps for holes or tears before you leave with your first load.
    You will also be on the hook no matter what division or company/lease for tire chains, $400, which they will take out of your check at $25/week.

    Roehl driver here. The average flatbed driver is getting about 2200-2400 miles. On the Westcoast the only regional run is the I5 dedicated but they have someone on that account. My friends that haul flatbed get tons of multi stop coast to coast runs. How you run also depends on how long you stay out. If you go home every week and a half like they offer you arent going to see the longer loads. We have a terminal in Pheonix, a drop yard in Fontana, and one in Vegas. Hope that helps. The flatbed division is the one division here that isnt really regional. But again if you go home every 11 days dont expect long loads expect to get shorter loads where they can get you home

    I responded in a separate post. The people complaining about not getting miles are the ones who are late or taking excessive breaks. This company has a full blown planning department. Their job is to ensure every driver is planned for a load days in advance. If it takes you 10 hours to tarp dont expect a lot of miles. I was the only one in my class who was van. All my friends whom I talk to everyday average 2200-2400 miles. One goes home a lot so he stays close to PA. My other one goes home every 6 weeks or more so he is all over the place

    Are you still driving for R.E. West? I'm very interested in their OTR, non-flatbed option... I'm in Kentucky and would be going through their training to get my CDL.
