Since I already had cdl but no recent experience I started at .35, after 6 months I went to .37, after 1 year I went to .40. I ran hard as I could but still 100% legal, stayed out 2-3 weeks most of the time, arrived at destinations early & asked if I could load or unload ahead of schedule, etc.

Like most everything else in life, you get out of it what you put into it (with any company). R E West has plenty of freight & they'll let you run as much as you want to. Sometimes people don't push themselves or just settle for doing the minimum & want to blame others for it instead of taking responsibility for their own behavior. I am in NO way pointing that to anyone here in particular, but some of the guys I've talked to personally about not getting enough miles or not earning enough per mile show no initiative to perform better in order to improve. Most employers PAY just enough to keep people from quitting & most employees DO just enough to keep from getting fired. Someone has to break that cycle & step up, that's how I did it.

I easily get 3000+ miles a week. And they keep up with it too, to make sure your miles are up there.

Rarely happened when I was there, unloading water heaters usually burnt out most of my clock along with waiting at the Baltimore port waiting for a twic escort and then for them to find and load tractors.

Anyway I left and got .43 CPM with less than a year experience at my new company 2700-3100 miles a week, all is fine. At least for this moment in time, always looking for the best opportunity

Good news....just had my interview with RE West and they have bumped up training pay to $500 a week for the 3 weeks out with trainer. The first 2 weeks are still $300 and starting mileage pay is still .32. They are paying $100 to unload water heaters now, up from $75.

Thinbluesmoke, how's it going out there. I'm going to a job fair 2marow for RE WEST and I filled out the app already. I read they are offering new drivers with no experience $600 sign on bonus split the first two weeks of employment. I was just wondering if your still with the company and are they treating you good? There here about 45 min from my house and I want to get the experience with a good company. They offer training and I'm thinking about the flat bed work. I have been driving for FED Ex Ground and Homedelivery local delivering packages to customers so the hard work is not an issue as far as flatbed work goes. So, hope to hear back from you or anyone with recent experience about the company.
