Wow Johnboytrucker, that's alot of info and finally so.eine has something good to say about this company. I'm going to a job fair in the morning with RE WEST and seeing all the negative posts I was having second thoughts. You have made me wanna check them out for sure especially since I'm close to them. Thanks

    Hmmm

well don't go to an auto truck company because that limits your options in the future.
UsXpress is auto trucks if I recall.

The only thing good about RE West is they have no contract training to get your CDL, that way you can get a little experience and then get the heck out.
If you already have a CDL and went to truck driving school there's better companies than them.
There's other companies that are better and pay better to get your CDL if you don't have one but the only catch is you have to sign a contract saying you'll work for them.

    bigmike77 Thanks this.

Yes us xpress has automatic that's why I was not really sure about them and I have to go to a school and sign a contract for 14 months. They offered me a dedicated route specialist coming straight out of school in my hiring area. $1000 week minimum guaranteed thats why i was leaning towarda them especially with the drop and hook. As far as roehl they offered me home every weekend averaging $1000 a week but not guaranteed. But, more of a regional route. If I had my CDL I would go other routes but, I don't at the moment....I have an class D with F endorsement and D.O.T. medical card. But, it's just a like chauffeur license for FED EX. So, I ant more since I like to drive and see the country. I have done expediting for Panther expedite an Express 1 out of Michigan in a sprinter van. Drive all states and adapted to the otr living. But, otr in a sprinter versus a truck is totally different. At the moment I'm driving for FED EXEX local in a 26 ft truck but I want more. Thanks for the info back. Preciate it.

    hmmmmmmmmmmm
Well an auto truck kind of wastes your experience because if you try to go to a stick tranny company later on.
BUT and big BUT Guaranteed money for a noob and $1000 a week at it is nice, dunno anywhere else you'll get a deal like that with no experience.
You could try applying at Prime, they pay pretty well and have flatbed, reefer and tanker plus have stick trucks.
RE West is just a driver mill, they don't compete with other companies for experienced drivers because they don't pay well. The only thing they're good for is no contract CDL training and that's it.

If I were you what starting point job would depend on what your long terms goals are.
If UsXpress puts in writing that $1000 a week guarantee that's pretty hard to beat unless you have other longer terms goals.

    bigmike77 Thanks this.
