Thanks Rockin Chair. I'll have to do a little testing/experiment when I get to run with another one of our drivers. I'll hang both mics, and test each to see if they can determine if one is better.

Sadly, in another week, I'll have to start from scratch setting it up. I'll be moving into another (used) truck, mine is being traded in. Nope, haven't been with the company long enough to get a brand new one.

I have the General HP 40w....basically the same radio...but more kick. Just wondering where your knobs are set for echo. Tried to get mine set with talkback but it never sounds the same on another radio. I don't want too much echo...just want it to sound good and to be understood while tx'n.

"Off" would be a good place to start, especially for the "be understood" part.

After all of the positive reviews, and from what I've heard I just may order myself a General Lee radio. All I've ever used were plane jane CB radios, so I'm new to all of this fancier stuff. What would be a good antenna to complement this. My old antenna that's located behind the driver door is shot.

I have just a hint on mine. I figured it out by the driver's I talk to telling me what it's sounding like. HOWEVER, there are those that have a real strong echo/reverb setting. When I talk to them, I'll reach up and spin the knob, that way they get to hear what they're sounding like to me...:biggrin_25523:

Like big trucks, we need big radios, to keep our pay check in our pocket. A Cobra 148 GTL with lots of TLC keeps Po Po of our donkey. Palomar makes it better. My truck looks like Radio Shack Puked. Just to make a living. Dangerous trucks. All the TV ads say. Go get yourself, I say. They leave that part out. Oh, I got Zip, My tractor was broken into today. Good By 2800.00 Didn't even call Barnie.

Warning about leaving your truck in Eloy. Don't. Eat at 4 cornors, or El Passo. Yea I'm mis spelling. Two times I been ripped off there. Asked the golf cart dude, my truck was empty. He was on the other side of the lot. "helping some folks in a motor home". Gotta love it.
