ABF is related to R & L ?
im scanning there web page now....thanks for the help -
I see ABF has openings ...
What is a " Checker/Driver Full-time combined Dock/P&D . "
The title sounds like I might get some exercise
Tankers, doubles, triples, has mat required ...looks like I have some work to do -
ABF has nothing to do with R&L. I'm just recommending other companies that have openings. That position is for a day shift picking up and delivering skids all day in the city. If you want to pull doubles at night and make 50+ cpm you click on their road driver positions. Atlanta only has openings for P&D.Mev Thanks this.

Checker is another word for dock worker
Mev Thanks this. -
You do realize you'll have to get fingerprinted, and background-checked by DHS, right?
Just to warn you.
The doubles endorsement is an easy one to get, just a written test. -
Any idea what Linehaul pay starts at? I'm thinking about applying with them here in Minnesota.

Hard to say. Different terminals have different pay scales. But it's the same for every driver at that terminal.BigMod34 Thanks this.

I worked for R & L in 2002 in the Denver area. It was one of the best companies I have ever worked for run by the worse people. Everyone in my terminal was cool except for a couple of RATS. The money was good, my route was good, the trucks were good. Just the regional managers were out of touch with the workings of a freight company. The job is what you make of it.

Two Totally different companies. ABF is Union and if you use the "U" word in R&L you'll give someone a stoke there.
R&L was a great company when I was there!
