I have been with R&O for 2 years now, and I'm telling you right now you want nothing to do with them, the company is going to do away with R&O in march or April and everyone is going to have to sign a new contract with RWI, but thats beside the point, when I first started with them I thought I had found the place I was going to retire from, sure the loads are heavy over gross 98.9% of the time and they are top heavy as well seen several newbies turn over on ramps from going to fast, but I was willing to deal with it because I was home twice a week and bringing home $2000 to $2500 a week, a couple times my bring home after fuel was over $3000 and still got home during the week for a night. But now things are different, we have lost a lot of our banana loads and backhauls due to a dispatcher from hell, this guy is without a doubt the worst guy I have dealt with in my 10+ years of driving, He has told the drivers that he doesn't care if they go bankrupt or not, he is the most disrepectful, hateful and outright untruthful person you care to ever experience, his attitude has caused us to loose customers and now we have gone from well over 150 drivers to about 45. Drivers are dropping like flies, I have gone from what I was bring home to now taking home from $700 to $1000 a week if i'm lucky. I'm currently trying to find another carrier and when i find one I will be gone so fast their letters will suck off the doors as I leave their parking lot...... RUN RUN RUN far away from them.

ahhhh Stone, hit the nail square on the head. The dispatcher is no longer with that division but now does load planning, but yes he is a blowhard to say the least.

In the 70's R & O was owned and operated by United Brands (Chiquita Bananas). United Brands also owned John Morrell & Co which was a meat packer. Their largest plant was in Sioux Falls SD and it was a challenge getting trucks to haul their fresh meat all over the country. John Morrell figured operating R & O out of Sioux Falls as an O/O carrier would help them out. Didn't work out so well for them.
