The only shop i use is Communications Center exit 106 I85 Trinity, NC only problem is no truck parking even though you can get in there with a truck and I have seen some come in there is not a lot of room and you will have to leave you radio because he will not stop working on something to get to yours but its worth it if you live near by The owner has been in the business as long as I can remember and knows what he is doing. There is a sticker inside the case of my radio with dates he serviced it and everything he done and all the settings. My advise is find a good radio shop that will take their time and do it right even if it means leaving it a couple days (every driver should have a backup radio) leave the wack pack and super tunes alone unless you want to shorten the life of you radio and spend a lot of money for a over modulated radio

Class 1 license ? You meen a FCC First class now known as a General radiotelephone license ( NOT A GENERAL CLASS HAM LICENSE ) .....
I got my first class in 1967 and when it was renewed for the last time they changed all of then to one of these ......

One gripe I have is there are no rules to call your self a TECH and work on CB or HAM radios.

I use R and R all the time, they frown upon doing useless modifications and will typically tell you if what you want is pointless. I have asked about several things and been told no do not do that it is a waste. These guys are definitely not out to just take a buck and will give very honest opinions based on years of experience.

Holy Lord there are SO many bad-sounding radios out there. These guys get 'em tinkered with and, although many sound like they have lots of power, they are hard to understand. It's a shame because they don't know how bad they sound. As a footnote to the story (because it is almost over now), turn that freakin' echo down. Just because it goes to 10 doesn't mean you have to run it on 10. Put it on 1 or 2, just enough to fatten the sound a little

    jdchet Thanks this.
