I've been around a year or two, actually over 30 of them. One thing I figured out some years ago, I make my living with that little rectangular piece of plastic called a CDL. Why the heck would I want to jeopardize it for something so trivial and stupid? Running legal presents much less stress, also. So why would I want to cause myself more stress, by doing something I'm not supposed to be doing?

got stopped in va today. cop accused me of having a radar detector. wanted to search my truck. i told him i wouldnt give permission but i wouldnt stop him from searching. so while he searched his partner stood out side with me saying how they have a machine that can pickup the signal. i said thats great you should go and catch the car that you detected. after 20 mins. of searching couldnt find one. he tried to scare me by saying i could be arrested for lying. i looked him straight in the eye and said." for the 5th time i dont have a detector in my truck". he was getting upset and so was i. he finally let me go. as i was pulling back onto the road i reached down and pulled the detector out of my boot and put it back on the dash. the really sad part was i wasnt speeding or doing anything wrong. and i didnt lie the detector wasnt in my truck it was in my boot!

it's an old cobra, about 20 yrs old. got a little tape on it to help hold it together. but still works good. the cop was one of those wannabe super cops. he just didnt ask the right questions. he was pretty fustrated when he let me go!

Anyone who spends the money on a Rocky Mountain Radar product, please let me know, cause I've got a bridge to sell you as well. Colorado State Patrol proved about 10 yrs ago that all of their "jammers" are junk and don't actually work. Do a little research on jammers, you'll find that all Jammers are illegal in the US and to work the way the claim to work and do what they claim to do, would require more power than your cig. lighter. Now, scramblers, like those sold by Escort and Valentine do work, and work quite well, just don't get caught with one.

And if you are running within the legal limits, you don't need to.
