You shouldn't be going fast enough in a big truck to worry about needing a radar detector!

Actually, I got pulled 3 months ago in Indiana for doing 68 in a 65. He gave me a writing warning. Would have been nice knowing he was there.

Yeah, this is so true. Truckers just don't help each other out like they used to.

Actually, I disagree...in fact, just yesterday I helped a fellow trucker realize how much of an idiot he was. [IMG]

But at 68, would you have slowed down in a 65? I know I wouldn't. I've never been pulled over for doing less than 10 over. 3 mph over could be attributed to speedo error, tire wear, etc.

Cop with nothing better to do than screw with a truck driver. Probably let 20 cars go by that were going faster than you.

Although our trucks are governed we have a few drivers that like to carry them for entertainment purposes only. They like to know where the bagel eaters are sitting at night...just for fun.

AND yes going across the scales they put them away...way before they get to the scales...got to...THOSE tickets are expensive and will take a BITE out of your ###!

Anyone have any issues of "The Man" wanting to search your truck?

I never have, but I've seen other drivers getting their trucks tossed.

they have "in dash" radar detectors... that can be installed in the dashboard, or just placed anywhere. And have wires running out to different .. "detectors" that you mount on the front back and sides... i doubt any of those wires are (stock) long enough to fit an 18 wheeler, but you think a trucker could get away with something like this? i mean theirs plenty of places they could go that would be pretty invisible....

Also i know normally when i ask for a bear report, i get one .... and i thank the driver, and bring that needle up. if i know of any cops out their, i will normally alert others through Cb, especially if anyone asks. Some times this makes a big diffrence

Drive the speed limit. You'll have no worries. Besides its a turtle and hare thing. Often times the guy that just keeps the left door shut even in a slower truck will get to the destination just as soon if not before the guy that is hauling xxx but stops too much.
