Radiator leaking.

The whole radiator or just the core?

 

I put a Dura-Lite in mine earlier this year and so far so good, I believe it was around $1000 cad.

 

I prefer radiator works over Detroit Radiator. Now that LKQ bought them, their distribution network has expanded. Give them a call, check locations, prices. Detroit ain’t what they used to be, since they hit the big time.

 

Sounds like another job for Mend-Tite. Nobody believes me, except old timers, maybe, (it's how I found out about it)but the stuff works. I've used it a dozen times. It does NOT plug heater cores, and while nothing fixes it permanently, it puts off the inevitable, while you allegedly save up for the new core,,,or trade the truck before it leaks again.

 

I try to stay away from Hwy 69, even if is 30 miles shorter on my route to Texas. The road is rough , shakes the truck really bad from Big Cabin to Texas state line.

They quoted me $1400 plus 200 shipping.truck freightliner fld year 2000 and they didnt have it in stock

 

dont know i got mine in years ago. brass tanks, copper core, 1/2 tubing. never had a issue with it.

 

I carry a plastic welder around for emergency repairs.

I've had some success with it, but if you don't match the welding rods to the material you're repairing, it won't bond correctly. Harbor freight sells a multi pack of PVC, ABS, and PP rods. I have not been able to get PVC to bond correctly, but I have done PP, ABS, PE, and nylon.
