I knew enough about the compensation to pursue the job to begin with, and wisely ignored everyone who had nothing but negative stuff to say, like 'you're crazy giving up a Mon-Fri home every day job to go on the road' and how I'll regret it etc etc. Then came time for the interview process and a lot of information, and I can say this, I'm sure glad I didn't listen to any of the negativity! Really, really glad.
Walmart has dirty nasty stores and they are bad for our struggling economy. Small business is the life blood of our economy and small business cant survive with Walmarts on every street corner
You're kidding, right? You sound like an Obama campaign worker. Where do I start here... Because of Walmart, 1.5 million people have jobs. Are they the greatest paying jobs? No. Is ANYONE FORCED to work there? NO! My wife is a cashier, been there for almost 2 years and is happy. If she, or ANYONE ELSE isn't happy there, or wherever they work, they can quit. I'd love for you to explain how Walmart is HURTING our economy! Looking forward to that explanation! Without Walmart, millions of Americans WOULDN'T BE EATING EVERYDAY! Small Business is great, unless someone else can offer the same thing for LESS cost. That's called free enterprise. Mom and Pop's store didn't make it because people aren't going to pay $35 for a pair of Levis when they can get them at Walmart for half the price. If small business is the lifeblood of our economy, then the economy needs a heart transplant, and Walmart is it! Where are the dirty, nasty stores? Where do YOU live? Every one of the 250+ stores I've been to have been clean and orderly, even during the holiday rush. Well, I'm glad you're happy where you are, and someone is thanking you for giving THEM the opportunity of a lifetime. Thanks for your military service, I too served, so we have at least that in common.
Can tell your bitter about your Walmart chance or lack of. Small businesses are and have been failing for sometime. There are many chain stores to blame for this.
Nothing came through. Wait...there it is. Took a couple min. What did you turn down? A lot! Your current check looks a lot like my now-previous employer. Like I said, glad you're happy where you are.
What you turned down is, a 1-2 year driver will easily make more than you. Yet, they have the rest of their career ahead of them. Just had my 6 month associate meeting a few weeks ago. I know where I am going, and where I came from. Yes, I made similar money at my last job.................. after 7 years there. I have been here a little over 6 months and I know when I will get my 10 off.................... and I know I will always have my 2 days off. Plus, I am treated with respect now. I'm glad you are happy at your job, as everyone should be. Yet, because you are happy where you are, doesn't mean what the rest of us has chosen is the wrong choice............. or we are dumb............... or Walmart sucks............... or they are bad for the economy.................. or.................. or................. or. It just means we have taken different roads. I hope your job continues to treat you well.
Maybe its just a bad picture but the take home paycheck wad $1690.28. Thats what your paychecks looked like with your now previous employer? You gotta be a fool?
Um...ok. I'm a fool. A very happy one though. I paid attention during my interviews. Walmart is pay by performance so I can walk in the door and make as much as someone who's been there many years. Like I said, you turned down a lot but as was already stated, as long as YOU are happy, that is all that matters.
