hey guys. I am hoping there is a driver here who has come across one of these or knows where i can get a manual. I am driving a 2006 Mack CV71.![]()
as you can see from the picture this is an am/fm cassette radio. I am assuming this is a factory install in the Mack truck since it says "Mack" on the radio. Here is the problem. I can't for the life of me figure out how to set the time and I can't find a manual for this radio or model of truck. I even volunteered to take some of my own money and get a different radio to install but my bosses do not want to swap out the radio. Anyone have any ideas or where I can find a manual?

If you can slide the radio out on the back will be the data plate. It would have the model number of the radio. With this you can search for a manual.

i can try that mark. i do know that there was a "faceplate" if you can call it that. the left side with the volume and power buttons popped out (anti theft i assume) well because someone tried to break it i guess, my mechanics "fixed" it by taping the plate in place with electrical tape. well bumpy roads have a way of making stuff loose. every time it lost contact, the radio reset along with the volume. so i complained. they offered a more permanent fix, they superglued the plate in place and I am really afraid to try to remove the front cover.

Better yet, get a new one.

Balakov, I would love to get a new one but like I said even after offering to go out and buy one with my own money, the bosses told me no. I don't know why they would even care. The head mechanic insisted they go and spend 100 bucks on the the hood ornament which i can take either way. I mean I know that the dog is pretty much recognized as the official symbol for Mack, but come on 100 dollars for a hood ornament and a radio (doesn't have to be a fancy one) might not even cost half that much.

You do know that the 4 holes, 1 in each corner, is how the unit is removed. A special U-Bolt shaped tool is used, LIKE THESE . You could go to a dealership have them pull it out so you can get the info off the data plate on the back side.
So you're boss is against you spending your own $$$ for another radio? Even if you kept this one and replaced it when/if you go to another truck or leave? Are you assigned this truck? Do you slip-seat? If not, I think I would go ahead and replace the thing, tell him you want to use a Sirius/XM radio.. -
there is a company called bigrigstero I would give them a call, see if they can help.
Have you tried setting the time with the unit turned off? I had a head unit years ago that the only way to set the time was to turn the unit off. -
I circled a couple of places that could be where the time setting is controlled.
#1, seems to be an "i", Information button. Have you tried pressing and holding it to see if the time display starts flashing? If it does, then I would try pressing one of the arrow buttons to see if it changes.
#2 seems to be a hole, is it? If so, have you tried inserting a paperclip or like object, pressing, to see if the display changes? I've had older stereo units that had such a "button". -
