I got a question to see if anyone has tried this,
My new truck they do not want me to wire my Galaxy 94VHP to the batteries. It pulls 25+ Amps.
I have a 110 to 12 volt power supply...It runs the radio fine at home for a base unit but wondering if using the big invertor off the APU and truck would cause any issues?
I might hook it up next weekend to see...The power supply is small and it would be an easy way to power the radio.

Any objection to running this in your window from outside?

There he is, Super Wacked and Packed.

I could try that or just sneak my heavy power cables with lugs to the battery....lol!
I would just have to hide them when the truck is due a service.rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
Still trying to find out if my Francis hotrod 5.5 will handle that 94VHP.....
None of the sites have what that antenna is rated for.
I do have a Monkey made that I used to run on it and a Wilson 5000..
Neither is a good choice for the Crapcadia because of the mounting location.. -
All you need to do is stick a 4 foot shaft underneath that Wilson.
This isn't a Wilson but it's the same concept
Maybe put a counterpoise underneath also ="EZ Money, post: 5224184, member: 51799"]Still trying to find out if my Francis hotrod 5.5 will handle that 94VHP.....

Reason for edit: illustration purposesEZ Money Thanks this. -
So this is the guy who tuned my General Lee? Is he still in prison? I’d like to send him a note to say thanks. First contact today was 70 miles to Mccool, Ms, then later 60 miles to Longview, Ms.
That convict knows how to make a 2006 General Lee talk far and loud. -
He did have skills when he selectively chose to apply them. Unfortunately he didn't always do the right thing.
He's out of jail now. I believe he's living out of a storage unit in Arizona now since his wife left him after the money dried up.shogun Thanks this. -
I think I was fortunate and got one of the radios he actually worked on himself. I got it in 2006, its all original except my friend adjusting the receive on it and a cold solder joint issue.
Its quiet, I was just listening to a station in Gulfport about 165 miles away in the rain. It wasn't moving my needle, I could just hear him over the static. This skipshooter antenna seems to perform very well although its quite narrowbanded.Last edited: Feb 22, 2019
rabbiporkchop and Slowmover1 Thank this. -
Actually your antenna being narrow banded is a good thing. It’s probably one of the main reasons that your radio set up works so good for you.rabbiporkchop and shogun Thank this.
