Compiling lists of companies that pay:
    • household goods miles
    • practical miles
    • hourly
    • etc.
Please reply with company name, city & state of home terminal, and how they pay. Will post on web as searchable database.

CCTAnker, You are correct, I have seen several companies that pay VERY WELL and that state they have a difficult time getting drivers. I wish they were local to me; and did not require 2-5 years experience.

I drove with big fleet companies for a long time, but best pay with all the bonus's and perk's came from a four truck company two miles from my house. I think it is pretty bad out there though when someone with a years experience makes almost as much as i did in fleet, and i had over eleven years behind the wheel before I found a good one. That actually paid for the experience.

Unless you're rolling for a private fleet, government contract or specialized I raise the BS flag on any OTR driver claiming making over 35,000/year. What's the average pay for OTR $350-400/week average? $20-21,000 a year is a more realistic/believable figure......

I'd commit suicide if that's all I could make working OTR for a carrier.

ps Smooth Bore: I think your numbers are off quite a bit.

By my 10th year in trucking I should be making .66 cpm, all it takes is some motivation folks. Go work for Sysco (which I did for a year) and you can and will make a good living, most drivers just dont want to work they want to sit and whine.

    cc tanker Thanks this.
