I see a lot of raised air intakes on ausie trucks. Why? What is the advantage? Other than looking way cool!

They put them up there so they catch a lot cleaner air, there is a lot of trucks that are roadtrains that work in the outback where it`s really dusty.

The scoops act as a pre cleaner the dirt catches on the lovers at the back of them and goes out, the air goes down the tube, They work in snow, bugs, water spray most everything that is heavier than the air.
