Rand McNally intelliRoute TND 500

We seem to have a problem with power cord making contact. If we move the cord around we can make contact. Not sure if it is the cord or the plug in the unit. Cord seems to be a mini-usb style like used in cell phone chargers. The truck stops have the units, but don't stock the cords, will try and find one that will let us check out the unit and or the power cord. May also check out cell phone stores to see if we can find a match. We know of one cell phone cord that worked, but don't remember the brand of phone.

 

Decon, I found a cord at walmart that works just fine, it is regular usb on one end and mini usb on the other end. Im using a small inverter with a usb port in it.

 

I have had the same problem with mine. Doesn't seem to fit the socket tight enough.

And you guys need to check your POI database. It's routing me to stations with no parking, no showers, and no fedex box with the filters on. The ampride in Stafford, KS does not have a box.

Also, WTF?

 

The paper logs are set to 15 minute time slots.... so you either round up or round down when you get to the magic minute..

why does the electronic logs count by the minute? sounds like an programmer not knowing how logs are set..

DOT only requires 15 minutes entries..

DO all electronic logs count down by minutes versus 15 min slots?

If you are having a connection problem with your DC power cord, you can either submit a Tell Rand with your E-mail or call tech support (number is on splash screen when booting..

Let them know that you have a defective DC power cord.

Meade truck plaza doesn't have a fedex box either, TND says it does. It's not being helpful today at all.

 

NOTE: it is not recommended that you buy a DC to mini-usb power cord. All mini-USB connectors are not created equal. they have a 4 pin and a 5 pin mini-USB. if you use the wrong one you will damage the internal electonics of the TND. It is suggested you contact RM for a replacement...

Their are off-brands that will work, but I will not mention them. Contact RM for a replacement...

when you get the fatal app error.... if you connect your TND to your computer and look under the drive that contains the Navi folder...then look for the LOGS folder... E-mail me the log files please.

Normally you might get these if routing cannot be determined. Reboot and you should be fine.
