Find a phone repair shop in your area. They can make the repair, or refer you to a shop that can. Replacing power ports is a simple task for those who do micro soldering.

You're not going to be any better off with Garmin..
I went with Smart truck route 2 app and put it on a 7" tablet.. works great.
$59 a year for the app and $79 for tablet.
Uses less than 1 gig a month tethered to my phone.
Free traffic and is google based.

    Jarhed1964 Thanks this.

Cool. What kind of tablet did you get? My phone won't let me use it as a wifi hotspot, but I think there is a proggy online somewhere that I can use it to tether.

For what it's worth, all of these GPS device manufacturers are going to soon regret their decision to throw drivers (both truck and 4 wheeler) under the bus by not fixing their junk and the lack of support they have.

If the solder pads on the motherboard are still intact, then I would agree that the USB would be relatively simple to repair. But there's a fairly good chance that when the USB was pushed inside, the pads came with it.

To answer your original question about the price of repair, I believe an 'out of warranty' device repair costs $99 to through Rand. But that also means if you send it in, and solder pads are missing and the can't be repaired, they'll replace your device. I completely understand not wanting to go through all the trouble and not wanting to deal with Rand, but at the very least I hope this offers enough information that you at least know your options.

When you say its froze on the Rand McNally page, do you mean that it's froze on startup with the Rand logo being the only thing shown? Or is it froze on a different page?
