You said you’ve already attempted to restore it? (Forcing it into Android Recovery mode with the power and volume button)

If that’s the case and you’re still having the issue, there’s probably some type of corruption with the device’s operating system and you’ll have to send it in to repair to be flashed

 

Just a quick note folks. For all of you who have ever been helped or benefited from Mark's help, here is a short update. He is facing a serious health issue at this time. No one can say what the future holds, but he has not been absent out of personal choice, or due to any lack of dedication to all of you here.

Any more will have to come from him unless he gives me permission to speak further at some point.

If you are a believer, then please say a quick prayer for the guy. If not, then send some positive mojo though the ether to him because I can tell you that he is not having a good time right now.

When we first noticed his absence I speculated that it could be a health issue.

Hey Mark, I'm looking into purchasing an RM GPS... I like the way the the older GPS map displays were set up (730, 720, ECT.) But I like some of the new features of the 740... My question is can the display on the 740 be set to look like the classic Rand display that everyone has come to know, and at least in my case love. a
Also has the mounting bracket issue (weak magnets that cause gps to fall off mount) that I have heard many complain about been addresed? As I run a lot of very rough roads, rough enough that I will still probably have to use a little duct tape to secure the device to the mount. I would really like to see an alternative type of mounting device developed that has an actual mechanical hold on tje device... I have run roads that literally launched a full 20 oz. Soda bottle out of the cup holder and bounced it off the ceiling of my full height sleeper... Luckily it was closed. I don't think any type of magnetic mount is going to hold a device under those types of conditions.

I just saw this after I made the above post to Mark... So sorry to hear that Mark is battling with health issues, hope to see him return in better health.

@Dieselboss perhaps you may be able to help with the questions I posted to mark in the above post, as I have heard that you have done reviews on several GPS units before.

Anyone have a fix for addresses not working in the search?
I’ve had several that won’t show, and Wisconsin is the worst of it.

 

Is there anyway to make the 730 to show distance to weigh station rest areas truck stops along route. All the time.thanks
