The serial number of your unit will tell them. They know when they cut in the newer mount. I guess it doesn't surprise me then that they are on back-order.

They don't even bother to test their junk.

They just have you call support... go through a run-around, mail it back to them so you can wait for them to send you another unit with the same problem... There is a hole in the bucket.

    Beg to differ Don.
I have a 720 and they quit updating it last year.
They said they released a new map update in October but it wasn't an update at all.

The 720 was a great unit and mine still works but maps are way outdated. I doubt RM ever makes a gps that good again.

In my opinion the new apps coming out are going to spell the end of these expensive dash ornaments.

I have the Smart Truck Route II app on a $59 7" tablet and prefer it over the 720 anyday. I recently put my 720 away and use the app exclusively.

I did the same thing as you. Smart truck route and a Walmart tablet. They even said in a month or so an update is coming for 3 routes to choose like google maps .

    tow614 Thanks this.

    That's cool...
I wrote them a couple of times about that.

They also have a feature that gives photos of exit but my tablet cant run the software to open it.
I actually like the arrows for lane control better.

    jtaran06 Thanks this.

I didn’t know that. I did ask about the smooth navigation instead of the jumping. He said go into experimental features and turn on smooth navigation.

I used it all last week and ran 3275 miles with it. Our terminals are in some cities that are not really “truck” friendly and it pretty much took me right in the way directions do. I ran it next to my Garmin 580 and I think the smart truck is way better. And the support is top notch. They even respond on weekends to texts

I have had them call me on the weekends to explain how to change a feature that was causing me problems. That's when I realized my tablet couldn't handle it. It was a $59 Walmart tablet so no big deal.

I run SmartTruck on my 10 inch currently, along with Iheart in the background, runs like a dream.
I have come across a few minor directions where i wish i would go faster to tell me whats next or it skipped a major step that i figured out (50%) of the time LOL. Who says you can't make a U-turn with a semi?

    jtaran06 and tow614 Thank this.
