Just read the last several pages of post here and it so saddens my heart that Mark is no longer actively providing support here.

Just recently heard that one of my trainers has passed and now Mark is MIA too. If anyone knows his status, please drop me a note.

I have found a solution for the tnd80. Now if it's still under warranty, I would say let them fix it. If it's out of warranty, 30$ fix. The 12v charger it comes with puts out 2.4a. Over time the diode gets weak and can't put out enough voltage. I picked up a road king 4.8a charger. No issues whatsoever, GPS hasn't shut down once.

 

RMTND 540 rendered useless by RM update.Horrible customer service and Tech Support. They take zero responsibility! Do not purchase!!

 

Good morning, I have a tnd 80b and it will not boot. It stays sitting on the Rand McNally splash screen but I can get to the recovery menu so I tried to do a factory wipe and a clearing of the cash but nothing seems to get me past it. Is there a place I can get the full firmware to try to do a firmware replacement?

 

So it turns on but you can't get into the screen that lets you set your route? Have you tried the reset button up top by the power button?

 

Tnd 730 about 2 years old issues.
Battery has been toast since new about.
And the big issue is touch screen not sensing touch. The screen is not cracked. I am about to go back to Garming.
I can plug in my first Garmin truck GPS 660 I think and it will work still. Made in 2008.

 

Yeah for some reason they can not figure out the charge port,as soon as I unplug mine it cuts off.

 

Battery is toast.

 

Maybe thats there way of suckering you in to buying a new unit.

I like some of the features,but I might look into garmin here shortly when I upgrade.
