Randmcnally TND 720 Missing System File!

Mark no longer works at Rand. You will need to seek factory support by calling 1-877-446-4863.

 

Rand McNally told me that they don't support my model anymore so according to them my tnd 730 is nothing but a very expensive paper weight.

 

I'm sorry man. Mark was a valuable asset to TTR users here with such things for sure. We were all very disappointed (including Mark) when Rand did not see that value (especially for older models like this.)

TND 720 is showing "no GPS signal". Tried docking with Rand McNally, resetting button, wifi connection work fine but still locked on last GPS map (Bakersfield, CA), but actually in Modesto area. Is there a file that has to be modified with laptop to "turn GPS ON". Everything else works great, just no GPS signal. Help! Thank you so much for reviewing this request.

TND 720, no GPS signal. Tried the RMN docking repeatedly, reset button, wifi is go, just no GPS signal. Still shows last location before signal loss in Bakersfield, but actually in Northern CA.
Looked on line for answers, no go. Is there a file in the TND 720 I have to access via laptop to "turn GPS on "?

I realize that this is an old post but the information to fix the TND 720 is not out there. I have spoke with Rand McNally and they do support this device any longer and I was not going to throw mine away. I did the same thing as you and ended up with the dreaded system file missing when I started the GPS. I will create a video to show others how I fixed it.
