Got an email I was selected for a random alcohol test from my consortium. It’s New Years Day, and I’m not working this week. No testing facilities within reasonable driving distance is open today. The consortium company is also closed. What do I do? The best I can think is they wait until tomorrow.

Im guessing I get a “reasonable amount of time” which means major holidays are excluded?

If you've been off duty you'll have to wait.

You can only be picked to do that type of test when on duty, not the drug test it still must be done, send a e/mail to tell them you are off duty at time they picked you just to cya

I agree with baha. The notice does say, "reasonable amount of time"..
Pretty hard to submit to a test when no one is available to do it. Just go test somewhere when you are scheduled to work again.

Plus they don't know when you opened your email. Unless they read your post.

I wasn’t even going back to work until Monday next week due to the weather. It’s not a big deal to go blow in a tube. The testing facility I used in town closed, so I have to find another one in their network I guess.

wouldn't any clinic be open, or the hospital?

emergencies happen 24/7, health care facilities are always open. at least, up here.

Only place open is the emergency room. Small town Montana with 35,000 people. Next closest town with comparable population is 65 miles away.

I don’t think the ER does random alcohol tests for employers. May as well call the police and have them give it to me.
