Not risking it, I switched back to whey protein.

 

It’s not funny at all indeed for several reasons. Number one it’s a career ender. Having your career as a truck driver come to an abrupt end overnight for something you totally are innocent about is a pretty bad proposition. And the second reason is because nobody will believe you. Everybody thinks “yeah this guy went out one night and screwed up“.

It happens, and more than people realize. It could even be something as simple as a disgruntled healthcare worker slips a couple drops of something in your urine. Or put it in the jar before you take it in the bathroom. Who knows. Every time you take one of these tests there is a risk. The risk that something might go wrong

 

Back in 1998 according to the article linked below. If I remember correctly, they also raised the cutoff for marijuana too to stop false positives from second hand smoke.

Can you fail a drug test after eating poppy seeds?

 

I eat poppy seeds cakes at Christmas time... and let me tell you those are my favorite. They are traditional pastries in most of Central and Eastern Europe I was not aware of them having anything to do with failing a random drug test... until one day I met a guy who said that he failed his random and blamed that on this cake on the picture. I thought he was full of it...I mean I have yet to see a grown-up guy get high from eating it.
