Well I’m usually a play it safe type of guy but I’m gonna give OD a chance. I’m looking forward to being a trucker instead of a portable dock worker.

I've basically got my own truck unless it gets sent down for maintenance.

So, when a line driver takes the short-haul, dockwork overnight BS runs for years, waiting for that guy ahead of him to retire so he can get a day run, it seems totally fair that some jackwagon from P&D can just come and take it? Not from where I'm sitting.

We bid our territories at this yard, so IDK what you're talking about.

Over here, there's no such thing as 'combo.' If you want to run linehaul, you start at the bottom of your yard's LH board, and most of those runs are short-haul overnight and include dockwork. (City generally only includes dockwork at very small yards.) Now, our line guys aren't forced to dockwork, either, but they'd rather get paid to drive a forklift than sit in the truck/break room for 7 hours and make nothing.

Of course, us FXF city guys aren't forced to buy our own pallet jacks(which I'm pretty sure is illegal)...
