Question:
Pup A scales out as 19,000 and 12,000.
Pub B scales out as 16,500 and 14,000.
Which one would y'all make the lead?
Would it change if you knew Pup B was fully decked out and Pup A was floor loaded? -
If I knew that before hooking, I’d put B in front since my drive axle would shift about 1000 lbs off of A and onto B. Even more weight shifted if you drive a twin screw.
But if I’m already hooked up with A in the lead, I’m not swapping them around unless I get down the road and it pulls really badly.gentleroger Thanks this. -
The thing I always go by is if the dolly and rear trailer axle both individually scale heavier than the front trailer axle, then you can safely assume they have to be switched.gentleroger Thanks this. -
Don’t ever front averitt express money for their mistake.
Had a fuel card deactivated on me. The store attend opened the pump, and the corporate card wasn’t working. Corporate couldn’t figure it out.
they asked me to pay for the fuel, and they’d write me a check. They wrote me an EFS check, and it bounces. Now I’m in limbo getting another check delivered tomorrow they claim.
next time I’ll just let them take me to jail, and sue my employer.
luckily I’m a little better off than most, but what if I was a guy with 2 kids? $300 is a lot of money.Last edited: May 7, 2025
hotrod1653, jmz, Gearjammin' Penguin and 1 other person Thank this. -
Funny story, when Yellow filed bankruptcy for the first few days after they sent management out to secure terminals that didn't have staff, recover equipment, etc. They had sent them out using company credit cards for hotel and rental cars. 3 or 4 days into the bankruptcy the court does what it does and freezes all the cards, so the people out traveling were asked to pay for the hotel or rental cars and be reimbursed when the court approved it. Instead a lot of them just left the hotel in the middle of the night, and drove the rentals back to their home areas and night dropped the keys. A week into it they asked me to travel out to the Northwest to recover equipment but asked me to front all the money and couldn't tell me how I was going to get fuel in the trucks if needed. I said no.Gearjammin' Penguin, jmz and road_runner Thank this. -
Now if it was just our company's cards that were down and not EFS, I'd be more hesitant. If my manager wasn't a solid guy, I would be more reluctant.Gearjammin' Penguin and road_runner Thank this. -
FedEx never questioned anything I submitted for reimbursement, always got a check in the mail within a week. Windshield wipers, headlight bulb, even a $2 fee to receive a fax of a missing hazmat bill.McUzi Thanks this.
