You’d like to think not, but that does often tend to be an accurate barometer for what you may be about to face.
For example, the people at the shack with the pickup truck that has NRA stickers on it parked out front are far more often than not more likely to simply say “oh just drop it anywhere and we’ll deal with it”.

How did you get that out of what Mack posted ?
misterG Thanks this. -
Pretentious puffy jacket, and pretentious ski race hat. TULE ski rack, on the car roof.
Total duffus.
Got more of the back story today. Dispatch spent 1\2 hour trying to convince this guy that we didn't and would NOT deliver on the weekend. Finally got him to get it through his head that we ONLY operate during NORMAL business hours. And we get what I had to put up with. A JERK. -
This week has been a real doozy.
Long day on Mon. Got stuck in the yard, for 1\2 hour with two trucks, during the snow storm. Capped off with a blizzard Monday night into Tues morn.
12 hour day, 2 hours spend on the dock loading night linehaul.
Call off Tuesday morning for dangerous driving condition. 0 hours, but quality time with the Fam.
Wed, had imbalanced tires, because of snow and ice build up from the drive home monday night. Followed by 8 stops in my regular area, and 4 in another zone to help a SLOW driver with his pickups. 12 hours+, again 2 hours of which were loading night linehaul. Ended up loading 3 trailers for the night. Only 2 left.
Thursday was no better. 8 stops again in my regular area, with the JERK being one of the last. To head back to the same zone as Wed. for more picks. 12 hours, 3 hours dock time today. Sent the 3rd trailer from Wed, tonight. Had another 3rd trailer of freight, that one went in Friday morning, as scheduled.
Friday, yay its finally here. Get to work on time, 1st trailer is just getting unloaded, 2nd trailer hasn't shown up yet. 3rd trailer hasn't had the seal broken yet but its at eh dock. Get my 5 stops loaded (should have been 7, but the night driver took 1 without the paperwork, and another one was missing 3 of the 4 skids).
Walk in the office to say good day, crazy bus is leaving and am told to wait. Need to take a passenger with to recover a truck (driver was detained by DOT for reasons not given to me).
Get 2 stops done on the way to the truck recovery. Drop off the pass, he fires up the truck and away we go.
Get to the next stop (10 pallets at 16,000#), closed. Never open on Fridays (not my area, so I wasn't aware).
Told to bring it home, but ask about the last tow stops (behind those 10 skids). Dispatch says can you move them enough to get the others out.
Nope, I say. Don't have enough trailer to move them on my own. Dispatch stopped talking to me altogether.
Call the next stop, and they don't have a dock to help move a few skids to get theirs out. So they get to wait for next week. Call another (occasional) customer in that area. They say absolutely, come on over. They rearranged the whole load for me.
Got out the last pallet (listed as residential)...yay me. Cal them up, no answer. Drive over since its on the way back to the yard. CONSTRUCTION SITE, NO ONE AROUND.
Grand total of two stops delivered and just over 300 miles driven today. AND 2 1\2 hours loading trucks for Monday morning line hauls.
I'm so glad Monday is a new day, and I don't have to think about this mess of a week anymore.Gearjammin' Penguin, MACK E-6, LoneCowboy and 1 other person Thank this. -
Idiots should know better than to send a 10 skid order out as part of a peddle run without an appointment.
Gearjammin' Penguin Thanks this. -
My rant: I need to get in the shower before the first day of my week right now, and I'm putting it off and checking out The Trucker's Report. That's some A-1 time management, LTLAnonymous.

I applied to mclane, us foods, merchants, sysco and pfg. So far I've heard from mclane and us foods. I applied to all of them last week, anyone know how long pfg and sysco takes to get back to someone

I'm doing temp work. errr excuse me, working for a placement agency. Last two days I've been moving railroad track repair equipment (For a company that does that) with a Landroll.
Drive off, going down the freeway in rush hour and someone is honking and pointing at me. WTF?
oh crap, that's smoke coming out of MY trailer.
5 lanes of rush hour traffic into a tiny little cutout. Brakes totally locked up. BUT NO AIR LEAK. (yeah, explain that batman).
got to use my triangles for the first time. (10 years of driving, always managed to limp off the road to a parking lot or broke down in a lot or driveway or something) #### things blow over. (yes, you'll laugh, i figured out when picking them up that the weights twist sideways. Yeah, dang, that would have worked, who knew?)
2 hours later, mobile guy comes, backs the brakes all the way off and I baby it the F off the freeway and back to their shop.
CANNOT REPRODUCE.
Totally admits it was locked up solid when he came, but everything works. The mechanic is totally mystified (so am i). Drove off, made for a long day
On the plus side, this job was hourly, so that at least was ok.road_runner and LtlAnonymous Thank this.
