Yes, I believe so. They both mean lessen the bend between the tractor and trailer, usually when backing.

I think for the first day with a new trailer a full check including the pedal and independent signal lights is important. It's the only way to know that all the wiring is good. Subsequent tests I think the Johnson bar and 4ways are good enough, as they show you the lights are still functioning.
Learned this 1 the hard way with using Freightliner self test switch. All the lights were operating, but several of them were wired incorrectly. -

Out of every 100 backs that you do, about how many of them would be blindside backs?

I had several places where the only real way to get a 53-footer in was to blind side. Just as with a regular back. GOAL! Do so as many times as you need!

Just a tip though. you can just look out the right side window, Yes you need to get out of the drivers seat and get your head close to the right side window. ''Most'' of the time it works but not always.Labrador Thanks this.
