    This is random but I’m curious. When a company does a road test on a new driver, what happens if that driver got into an accident during the road test??? Does insurance cover that?? Who pays?? No I’m not in this situation, I just think a lot & this was one of the many things I’ve always wondered.

    The company they're taking the driving test for wouldn't let them behind the wheel if they weren't insured. It's on the company, and if it actually happened the driver would be looking for a new career.

    It's your fault.

    //tease.

    Road tests are not to be getting into accidents. Although it may have happened. It still will be your fault. he he.

    Who pays?

    Road test, cop comes out, gets the company insurance info, driver license info and swap them. Same as any other accident. In a lawsuit, both the driver and the vehicle owner will both be listed as Defendants. Doesn’t matter if you get hired or not.

    I will add that the person administering the test will have some explaining to do.

    Years ago [pre-cdl] there was a company that wouldn't road test after 3 accidents the safety man wouldn't get in a truck!
