I don't get it either. Just sounds like another buzz phrase from techies intent on changing the world and getting rich in the process. I guess we'll see if/how it all pans out here in a few short years.

I was on the phone with a broker a little while back, I think in April and he said that exact thing and I said "well bucky, it isn't my problem. it just sucks to be you if you can't make a profit". I tell them the same thing some of my driver say, it isn't our problem what you make or don't make and it really isn't. You want the load covered, then you need to come up to our minimal requirement, I am not going to go down to yours.Tropsnart and Odin's Rabid Dog Thank this.

You know Coal, I run a lot of technology in my shop, I leverage it to make me money by saving me time. I am not stupid, I do a lot of programming work or write the specs I want to see when someone does the work for me, and I am integrated into other systems, but I have yet seen a scheme come to fruition by someone who has no skin in the game as an owner or fleet manager. Most of these ideas, and many are just plain stupid, don't last or flounder until someone grabs it and tries to fix it. In this case, I would rather see research tools being developed that allows a small or medium size owner to rate research and lane research. BUT then those who know how to do this are not going to bother because ... they don't see big bucks and they have no skin in the game.

Yeah that's what I figured. We all see where convoy and uber freight went. They're just one of thousands of brokerages out here, right?

Broker says they're taking a loss. A middle man says he is taking a loss. How ####ing stupid is that? What sort of broker in the middle of a transaction between two other parties loses money? In real estate this never happens. Only some ####### with no assets who foolishly gambled loses money. So who cares? #### em. They need to get pushed out. They're ####ing trucks over in a loose market anyway and get what they deserve.

Interestingly, this is the only time they offer to be transparent. I am sure, they don't try to appeal to a human empathy to help them out. Often, that's their easy way out of the negotiation, seeing that they won't buy cheap. On the other hand, they don't care or at least never ask me at what costs I have to run a load....they don't look for transparency on my end. We should not demand them being transparent either. No use for blockchain technology on the spot market.
